Convenient to downtown as St Charles streetcar right across the street. Clean and comfortable. Included breakfast, pool and hot tub. Felt secure and away from partying downtown. Great bargain for the location.
I was very happy with my stay at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and courteous. They were prompt with any request we had such as extra towels or a light bulb change. There is a nice courtyard we could sit as a family and the kids could have some room. And the Breakfast that is included surpassed any of my expectations. We had a very positive experience at this hotel.
I have no complaints... Great place to stay.
The location was brilliant, the trolley stop was right outside and easy to use for going uptown or downtown, takes you all the way to the Zoo which is a must and to the main streets down town . The hotel was very clean and tidy, good facilities too.
Terrible service. Requested towels several times. Waited 4 hours. On two occasions, had to go to front desk and pick them up. Room that Breakfast was had a bad odor. Chose not to eat free breakfast because smell of room made me nauseous. Lock on door was loose - screws need to be tightened. Door was difficult to open (Settling?). Water restrictor on shower head made it nearly impossible to shower. Plenty of water pressure for tub but shower use was terrible.
-right on the St. Charles street car line, -easy to get to any place in the city ( with exception of Airport.) -very clean
nice room but water was disconnected X 1, during our stay and we didn't know ( not informed), a lot of little things: sink drain didn't have a knob so was not usable, Shower controls were very loose as was the paneling they were attached to.. Safe, kept opening itself when we were away. breakfast was monotonous, same thing for 5 days, little fresh fruit, (no grits!) or other Hot cereal Eggs as severed need something like chives, cheeses etc. some staff didn't speak English, and pretend to, there for not being helpful No utensils in the room, poor selection of coffee amendments ie no diabetic sugar, no creamer.
They need to do some maintenance work on the place
location, friendly front desk, comfort of the beds
When we arrived and where directed to our room it was on the third floor in a building that did not have an elevator. Also the directions to the door granting acsess to the stairs which led to our room were not very good. (They moved us to another room promptly.) There was a power outage at 2am due to a blown transformer and the hotel has no back up generator. This was a major problem for me as I use a cpap machine nightly. It would seem that a hotel in New Orleans would have a back up generator given the weather history in the city. The swimming pool is rather small.( I give the management credit as they did adjust our final bill due to the inconvience caused by the power outage.)
Decor & location to French Quarter. Very easy to jump on the street cars and bus lines.
It was a very nice hotel but we were only staying overnight before getting on our cruise ship. The staff was very helpful & friendly and the room was nice also.
location was fine close enough to the centre to jump on the frequent buses outside the door, to downtown the building is quite interesting in its own right. The staff on the whole were friendly and breakfast was ample
The con, watch your bill the hotel clearly has a process in place, I was charged as though I was a walk in not pre booked, when I challenged the bill the desk informed they had not been sent the reservation from Booked.net and could I prove I had a reservation, in my opinion I was not the first person to have this problem, the discussion appeared to be well rehearsed. When I gave the booking reference and PIN my bill was adjusted - no apology nothing just a surly service and a credit. The Pool dont go near it the water was green and just to add complete insult the room was not particularly clean the carpet was grubby - to expensive for a less than clean room better value elsewhere. no wonder it was the only hotel avaialble that night
The hotel has a lovely character of old New Orleans with balconies and gardens and murals on some of the walls. It is easy walking distance to restaurants and bars along St. Charles and the art/warehouse district of New Orleans. If the streetcar had been running, it would have been easy to get to the French Quarter as well. Nice place to stay.
With New Orleans food being as great as it is, the breakfast was practically inedible. It would have been better for the hotel to serve some really good bakery and not attempt eggs or sausage which must have been pulled out of a freezer.
We enjoyed staying directly on St. Charles, where we could walk to many historic places. Yet, it was only a few minute drive or street car to the French Quarter.
There is a public bar next to hotel which created a lot of loitering (not on hotel premises).
The hotel clerks were amazing as were the cleaning staff. The girls who put out the breakfast in the mornings were very unfriendly and even rude. I would still come back to your hotel.
The location was great. All the staff were great, everyone was so friendly and helpful. Providing us with local information, which in turned provided us more time to enjoy our time there. We will be planning another trip to New Orleans and will be staying here again. I will highly recommend Quality Inn & Suites Maison St Charles to all of my friends and family.
We liked the courtyard where you could eat breakfast. Breakfast was pretty good...love the waffles. It was nice to have the microwave and fridge in the room. It was also convenient that the trolley stop was just outside the hotel. We would stay there again.
The quality of the TV and Cable signal was not very good. Some of the exterior and interior could use some updating.
